Sandy Springs received five bids for the project, ranging from roughly $371,000 to about $718,000. The lowest bidder, Urey Companies, was found to be unresponsive since they were not a Georgia Department of Transportation pre-qualified prime contractor, according to city staff.

Marty Martin, the city's Capital Improvement Projects unit manager, said a notice to proceed with the work could be issued this month, and the estimated time fame for construction is six months.
