The reception is free and open to the public at the light-filled gallery just inside the church, 805 Mt. Vernon Hwy. N.W., Atlanta 30327. All art will be available for purchase and displayed in the gallery until the closing date, Feb. 26.

Kimmy Cantrell. Kimmy Cantrell pursued a career in management for 20 years, before deciding to “reconnect with the clay,” one day. “So I picked up some, and sculpted a vase,” he says. Cantrell’s works evolved into bowls, and today he creates clay works with recurring themes: faces, still life, and the female anatomy. He often uses still life collages of clay and metal to tell his story.
Barry Rhodes. Artist Barry Rhodes is drawn to working in clay because of its deep connection to the past, the ability to easily express modern ideas of importance with clay, and to move art “off the wall and into our lives,” he says. “My own iconography is all about rhythms, which find their way into so much of physics and life.” Approaching each new piece as a puzzle, Barry strives to fit together organic and inorganic elements to make a cohesive and meaningful whole.
