Community Assistance Center Running "Extremely Low" on Food

The Sandy Springs-based organization says supplies usually run low during the summer months.

Sandy Springs-based Community Assistance Center is sending out an SOS to the public.

The organization said its Food Pantry shelves are “nearly empty” and they are in need of food donations.

“The pantry usually runs short of food in the summer months and as a result supplies are extremely low at this time,” the Community Assistance Center said in its email blast.

Residents are asked to donate non-perishable food items or to make a financial contribution online. Food items needed include canned vegetables, canned meats, tomato sauce, cereal, peanut butter, jelly, rice and soup.

Community Assistance Center’s Food Pantry receives about 1,200 visits a month from families and individuals in need.
