County Considering Increase In Senior Facility Rental Fees

The Fulton County Department of Aging and Youth operates 4 senior centers, including the Benson Multipurpose Facility in Sandy Springs.

The Fulton County Department of Aging and Youth is proposing fee increases for facility rentals of senior multipurpose facilities.

If approved, the fee increases will go into effect Jan. 1, 2016, and will apply to all residents, non-residents, private and non-profit agencies.

The proposed rates increases are indicated below:

THURSDAY RENTAL RATES (based on an hourly rate)

Non-Profit Agency Rentals

  • Inside Fulton County: $100
  • Outside Fulton County: $130

Private Rentals

  • Inside Fulton County: $130
  • Outside Fulton County: $180

Additional Hourly Rates

  • Inside and outside Fulton County: $100

Application fee

  • Inside and outside Fulton County: $50

Security Deposit

  • Inside and outside Fulton County: $300

The minimum number of Thursday rental hours is three hours and the maximum is five hours. All Thursday events must end by 10:30 p.m.

FRIDAY, SATURDAY AND SUNDAY RENTAL RATES

  • Application Fee: $50 for both inside and outside Fulton County
  • Security Deposit: $300 for both inside and outside Fulton county
  • Private Rentals: $975 for entities inside Fulton and $1,650 for those outside the county.
  • Additional Hourly Rates: $100 for both inside and outside Fulton County

A breakdown of nonprofit rates for specific Fulton County facilities also could change. They are:

Benson Multipurpose Facility

  • Inside Fulton County: $600
  • Outside Fulton County: $1,150

Bowden, Darnell and Mills multipurpose facilities

  • Inside Fulton County: $700
  • Outside Fulton County: $1,150

The fee increases will be discussed during a public hearing scheduled for Dec. 2, which will take place during the County Commission meeting at 10 a.m. in the Assembly Hall located at 141 Pryor Street in downtown Atlanta.
