The cause of death for the man found under his own vehicle nearly two weeks ago has been ruled an accident.

That’s according to Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon, who said 31-year-old Brent Matthew Wiley’s vehicle “had many mechanical problems.”
“The car was somehow left in reverse and starting going backwards and ran the man over,” he confirmed to Patch on Wednesday.

Wiley was found dead under his vehicle the morning of June 14 outside a home on Greenbrier Road, which sits off Hammond Drive.
Momon stated Wiley’s vehicle “had many mechanical problems.”
According to his obituary, which was published in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, worked as a project manager with Diebold Construction Company. He was a graduate of Independence High School and also officiated several NWA Anarchy wrestling events around north Georgia.
Wiley also enjoyed hiking, paddleboarding, adult kickball, working out on a daily basis, comics and dressing as different X-Men characters on Halloween.
“A free spirit who loved life and volunteered to help build homes for disabled veterans, he was always available to help friends and family.” his obituary states.
Funeral services were held June 17 at Kellett Chapel at Peachtree Presbyterian Church. He is survived by parents, Jeff and Susan Wiley of Sandy Springs; brothers, Todd (Kelly) Christian Wiley and Jason Allen Wiley and nephews, Ezekial Tyler Burton and Alexander Christian Wiley.
