Dump Household Hazardous Waste On June 17 In Sandy Springs

The city will partner with Keep North Fulton Beautiful for the event, which will be held Saturday, June 17.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The city of Sandy Springs will team up with Keep North Fulton Beautiful this weekend to allow you to get rid of household hazardous items tucked away in various dark corners of your homes.

The city's Household Hazardous Waste Day is scheduled for 9 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 17, and provides citizens with a safe way to dispose of paint and other materials.

The collection drive will be held at the Morgan Falls Athletic Fields at 450 Morgan Falls Road. The following items will be accepted:

  • Paints (15 gallon limit)
  • Solvents
  • Cleaners
  • Aerosols
  • Herbicides
  • Pesticides
  • Motor oil
  • Anti-freeze
  • Cooking fats, oils and grease

You can also bring pool chemicals, items containing mercury, propane cylinders, fire extinguishers and smoke detectors for proper disposal.

  • Electronics (accepted at Keep North Fulton Beautiful recycling center during normal business hours)
  • Medical waste
  • Needles
  • Explosives
  • Ammunition
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Non-hazardous items.

This event is open to Sandy Springs residents only; no businesses or contractors please. While the event is free, registration is required and can be done by visiting Keep North Fulton Beautiful's website.
