Elementary School Leaders and Teachers Invited to Preview Children's Opera for Free

Capitol City Opera Company's touring production of The Billy Goats Gruff provides an anti-bullying message and exposes kids to opera.

Capitol City Opera Company’s Opera Outreach for Children will present The Billy Goats Gruff, a 40-minute children's opera based on the classic children's fairy tale, on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at 1 p.m. at the Church of the Atonement in Sandy Springs, Ga.

As a special twist, elementary school teachers, school administrative leadership, and elementary school PTA leadership considering bringing this show to their schools will be able to preview this performance for free. They just have to present appropriate school identification credentials at the box office on the day of the show.

Composer John Davies’ operatic adaptation of The Billy Goats Gruff, takes a familiar story and adds a strong anti-bullying message that promotes the power of kindness. Ideal for children in pre-K through 5th grade, this opera is set to some of the greatest music by Mozart, Rossini, and Donizetti.
