Entering Auto Suspects Captured In Sandy Springs

Three vehicles had their windows shattered around midnight Tuesday in a parking garage on Glenridge Drive.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Four people were arrested and charged with entering auto after three vehicles were broken into at a parking garage in Sandy Springs. Officers were dispatched around midnight Tuesday, Dec. 12 to 5450 Glenridge Drive after a resident reported hearing a popping noise, which turned out to be the sound of shattering car windows.

The initial responding officers arrived and while waiting for backup, one of the suspects -- later identified as 21-year-old Daphnie Stribling of Lithonia -- tried to leave the scene in a Honda Accord, said Sandy Springs police spokesperson Sgt. Sam Worsham. Police quickly stopped the car and took the woman into custody. The caller told police there were three additional subjects in the garage, and the trio began to ran away on foot as additional officers pulled up.

One suspect, Aundre Brooks, was captured by officers in the breezeway. A search of the 20-year-old Lithonia resident unearthed a .40-caliber handgun and a screw driver "commonly used for breaking into vehicles," Worsham added, noting a search of the firearm's serial number indicated it was listed as stolen by Clarkston police.

The two remaining suspects, Levi Curtis Macsheen, 22, of Norcross and 22-year-old Marlon Irwin Thomas of Lithonia, were observed jumping a fence into an adjacent neighborhood. Officers brought out their K-9 counterparts and began tracking the pair. The canine sniffed out Macsheen, who jumped another fence and ran into an apartment complex where he was later apprehended. Another track led to Thomas, who was discovered lying on the ground behind a tree. He surrendered to officers "before the dog was released," Worsham told Patch.

The four suspects were brought back to the crime scene, and officers were able to identify three vehicles that were allegedly broken into: a 2011 Ford Mustang, 2017 Chevrolet Corvette and a 2018 Mercedes C300. Fortunately, police were able to arrive on the scene before any of the vehicles were stolen. Stribling, Macsheen and Thomas were each charged with entering auto and disorderly conduct.

They were all transported to the Alpharetta city jail for processing.
