Careers in Global Business at TROY Atlanta!

Local economic developers to help define global business for job-seekers in Atlanta

ATLANTA – Four area business leaders will keynote Troy University’s “Careers in Global Business” seminar on June 18.

Phil Bolton, president and editor of GlobalAtlanta; Ric Hubler, director of global business growth for the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce; Michael Starling, director of economic development for the City of Dunwoody; and Naazir Yamini, Global Operations Manager for The Home Depot will form an expert panel during the University’s Summer Seminar Series at its Atlanta site, located at 1117 Perimeter Center West, Suite N101.

The seminar session begins at 6 p.m. and is designed to help people advance or to start their careers through higher education.

“These seasoned professionals know what it takes to be both competitive and successful in today’s global business environment,” said Bill Glisson, director of TROY’s Atlanta District.

Bolton founded Agio Press, Inc. in 1991 to produce bimonthly publications of “The Global Business Reporter.”  Together with its website and email newsletter, the publication has become the premier news source for international business as it applies to Atlanta and Georgia. Prior to his Agio Press career, he was an editorial director for the international news corporation Lafferty Publications, an associate publisher for Communications Channels, Inc., and “The Macon Telegraph and News.”

At MAC, Hubler is responsible for programs to increase international trade by helping local companies expand their businesses to international markets. He has been in the post since 2007. The Toledo, Ohio native, who formally worked for The Home Depot, was a member of the Georgia State University’s Global Partners MBA program, and holds a master’s degree in international management from the University of Paris, Pantheon-Sorebonne, and a certificate from the COPPEAD Graduate School of Business from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. He completed his undergraduate degree at Tulane.

Starling joined the City of Dunwoody in 2010 and is responsible for leading the city’s efforts to expand its economy through business development efforts. Actively involved in the Georgia Economic Developers Association, the Dunwoody Chamber and the Technology Association of Georgia,  he was formally business development manager for DeKalb County and a senior program manager at the Atlanta Regional Commission.

After receiving both his undergraduate and MBA degree from Troy University, Yamini grew his own start-up company into a multi-million dollar real estate development and consulting firm with projects across the United States. After selling his company in 2008, Naazir joined The Home Depot in 2011 as a project manager in Global Brand and Product Development. In his current role as global operations manager, he manages more than $3 billion of annual import business and is responsible for identifying cost savings, developing alternate suppliers, and any additional avenues to improve the overall product import process.
