Paddle With A Ranger

Organized through the Island Ford River Contact Station, bring your own canoe or kayak and join a ranger for a very  float on the Chattahoochee River. The float will begin at Interstate North Parkway, and continue along a  three mile section of the Chattahoochee River (Powers Island to Paces Mill at U.S. 41).  The group will picnic along the way and several stops will be made including the Chinese bamboo grove, Sandy Point, and Devil's Stair Step Beach (Diving Rock).

Dress for the weather and wear quick drying clothes and good river shoes - no flip-flops. Have a nylon bag to secure your valuables in your boat. Place valuables in zip closure freezer bags or dry bag. Bring lunch and water.  You may wish to bring binoculars and camera. Finally, don't forget a hat, rain jacket, and sunscreen.

Reservations are required as space is limited!
