Event Connects Kids With Local Business Leaders

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The Healthy Youth USA Foundation will host a Career Day community event where area businesses can share their stories with the children who attend the organization's after school program.

The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 11 in the Student Center at North Atlanta Church of Christ at 5676 Roberts Drive in Dunwoody. At the Career Day, entrepreneurs and other stakeholders will be invited to provide encouraging feedback to students and discuss details on their respective roles in the community. Up to 150 children will be in attendance, and prospective participants are asked to RSVP to the event by Sept. 1.

The Healthy Youth USA Foundation has become one of the most preferred after school programs in the area, it notes. It currently caters to more than 135 children from Woodland Charter elementary, Dunwoody Springs and Ison Springs elementary schools in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody Elementary School in Dunwoody.

The foundation works to enhance the lives of youth and furthering positive youth development through mentorship, arts initiatives and recreational enrichment. Its members also educate families, communities and organizations on the benefits of out-of-school time programs for children and communities, and encourage collaboration among community partners to enhance program development.
