Explosive Discovered at Sandy Springs Construction Site
A 60mm mortar round was discovered at a construction site near Brandon Mill and Dalrymple roads.
A construction crew in Sandy Springs has discovered a 60mm mortar round.
Sandy Springs Police spokesperson Sgt. Ron Momon said the crew found the antique explosive in the vicinity of Brandon Mill and Dalrymple roads.
Momon said the round appears to be live and Cobb County’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal team has taken the mortar and will destroy the device at their facility as a precaution.
