The 30th annual Sandy Springs Festival will return to the heart of the city this weekend. Adults and kids alike will enjoy two days of fine art, live music, cultural performances and other staple celebrations.

Organized by Heritage Sandy Springs as its flagship fundraiser, festival hours are from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 20.

It will also feature the Kiwanis Pet Parade, Chalk Walk Art Competition, the annual Sandy Springs Lightning 5K/10K, children’s programming, classic rides, gourmet and festival food options and much more.

An enduring tradition, the Festival celebrates the community by creating lasting memories for generations of Sandy Springs residents, young and old alike.

The Sandy Springs Festival has grown from a small picnic to a major event that draws 30,000 attendees. Festival-goers can shop for original art in the Juried Artists Market, dress in matching costumes with their furry friends in the pet parade, qualify for the Peachtree Road Race by running in either the 10K or 5K, enjoy hands-on fun in the Children’s Area and much more.

Once the festival wraps up, residents are asked to head on over to the construction site of the City Center for the unveiling of the City Center District logo and branding.

That initiative will get underway at 5 p.m.

As the community’s “neighborhood,” representatives from neighborhoods throughout the city are invited to bring to the event a jar of dirt. The soil will be combined to “symbolize the this site will become everyone’s neighborhood,” the city said.

The event will begin promptly at 5 p.m., and participants are asked to enter via the Mt. Vernon entrance to the construction site.

The Sandy Springs Festival will be held at Heritage Green, located 6075 Sandy Springs Circle, and the surrounding area. Recognized as the largest event in the city, and one of the area’s best community festivals, the Sandy Springs Festival is a great event for the entire family.

Tickets are $5 for adults (age 18 and older) and $2 for youth (ages 6–17). Free entry for children ages 5 and under, as well as Heritage Sandy Springs Members. Two-day passes are also available for adults ($7) and youths ($3). Tickets are not pre-sold and are available at the Festival gates.
