Fire Damages Sandy Springs Gun Club and Range

No injuries were reported, and the area where guns and ammunition are stored only experienced slight smoke damage, the city said.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- A gun range in Sandy Springs suffered moderate damage in a fire Sunday afternoon in the northern part of the city.

Sandy Springs Fire Rescue crews responded to the blaze around 4 p.m. Dec. 4 at the facility, which is located at 8040 Roswell Road.

The fire caused moderate damage and appeared to be accidental in nature, city spokesperson Sharon Kraun said.

Kraun added the area where firearms and ammunition are stored did not experience fire damage, only "slight smoke damage."

No injuries were reported, and the cause and origin of the fire remains under investigation. Return to Patch for updates.
