Flooding Closes Sandy Springs Intersection

Once the waters recede at Windsor Parkway and Northland Drive, crews will need to check the road for structural integrity before reopening.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Persistent downpours have forced the city of Sandy Springs to close a key intersection on the southern tip of the city.

Windsor Parkway is closed at Northland Drive due to Nancy Creek overflowing its banks, the city said Wednesday morning on its Facebook page. The city has also closed Windsor Parkway at Peachtree Dunwoody Road due to flooding.

In the panhandle portion of the city, Sandy Springs added "significant roadway flooding" was also reported at River Exchange Drive at Spalding Drive in the Crooked Creek area (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).
