Food 'n Fun Festival Combats Hunger In Sandy Springs

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Local residents and stake holders can give food and have some fun all for a good cause at the Community Assistance Center's Fourth Annual Food 'n Fun Festival.

This fun-filled, outdoor family event will include activities and games for children and adults of all ages, and will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 7 at North Springs Charter High School.
Neighbors from all walks of life will come together to raise awareness, funds and food to stamp out hunger and homelessness in our community.

The free festival will also include a series of team events, including:
- The Food Challenge, a food drive contest where schools, businesses and organizations compete with rivals to collect the most food! Teams compete for awards, winners will be announced at the Festival;
- The popular Shopping Cart Decorating Contest is back! Teams compete for the Most Creative, Most Humorous and Funniest awards; and
- Hunger Awareness Walk for all festival-goers, a .25-mile walk around the track led by the Shopping Cart Parade.
Activities include a bounce house, inflatable slide, balloon blast, ring toss, food bingo, Mother's Day activities, arts and crafts, face painting, music and more. Most activities will be free to the public, and carnival food will be available for purchase.
Patrons are asked to bring food donations for CAC's food pantry. Proceeds from the event will benefit CAC, and provide for local families seeking assistance during the summer months when the pantry often runs low on food.
CAC helps neighbors in need in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody with the basic needs of food, clothing and shelter.
