Food That Rocks Set For June 9 In Sandy Springs
The event celebrating the city's diverse culinary scene will be held at City Springs.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Organizers are hard at work putting the final touches on the third annual Food That Rocks, a celebration of the unique roundup of eateries in Sandy Springs. The event will be held 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 9 on the City Green at City Springs.
Food that Rocks was created by Dale DeSena, a Sandy Springs resident, business owner and the founder of Taste of Atlanta. Sponsored by the city, the all-inclusive food, drinks and music event launched in 2016 brings together more than 20 chefs and mixologists who serve up their favorite menu items to the public.
Participating restaurants include Breadwinner Café & Bakery, Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop, Calyroad Creamery, Chef Rob’s Caribbean Café, Crafthall Kitchen, Gigi’s Cupcakes, Gio’s Chicken Amalfitano, Hammock’s Trading Company, Hearth Pizza Tavern, Henri’s Bakery & Café, Hudson Grille, il Giallo, Kaiser’s Chophouse, Kale Me Crazy, Mandolin Kitchen, Marlow’s Tavern, NAM Kitchen, Roaster’s, Southern Bistro, Stockyard Burgers, Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream, Taco Mac, Taqueria Tsunami, Taziki’s Mediterranean Café, The Select, The Springs Cinema and Taphouse, Three Sheets, Under the Cork Tree and Urban Cookhouse.

“We are delighted with the mix of fabulous restaurants for this year’s Food That Rocks,” DeSena said. “From Southern to Mexican, to the Caribbean and Mediterranean and lots of decadent and healthy choices in between. There is a little bit of something for everyone in this year’s lineup.”

While you nibble and sip, you'll be treated to the sounds of 80s and 90s music brought to you by Saved By The Band. You can expect to hear music from some of your popular musicians, including Talking Heads, AC/DC, Whitney Houston, Maroon 5, Bonnie Tyler, Young MC, Prince, Alanis Morissette, Tom Petty, B-52s, Spice Girls, Bon Jovi. Beastie Boys, Lenny Kravitz, Rick Springfield and Journey.
While it may seem like a block party, Food that Rocks is also a way for organizers to back to the community. This year, the fundraiser will benefit Second Helpings Atlanta, Community Assistance Center and The Drake House, all non-profit area charities.
Food that Rocks attendees must be 21 years of age or older. Tickets are $55 in advance and $65 on the day of the event. You can purchase tickets by visiting the Food That Rocks website. You can also follow any updates on the event by following its FacebookFacebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
