Free Skin Cancer Screening Scheduled For May 18

Northside Hospital's Cancer Institute will host the screening at its Sandy Springs campus.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Skin cancer is the most commonly diagnosed forms of cancer and according to the National Cancer Institution, more than 2,000 cases of melanoma will be diagnosed in Georgia this year.

As with other cancers, early detection is important and Northside Hospital wants to lend a hand to help local residents keep a watchful eye on their skin.

The Northside Hospital Cancer Institute seeks to help you get ready for the sun with a free skin cancer screening, which will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 18 at the Cancer Center at 1000 Johnson Ferry Road NE in Sandy Springs.

Medical professionals will provide skin assessments in a private setting. Registration is now open and everyone is invited to attend. Qualified Spanish interpreters available free of charge, by request. Participants are recommended to wear shorts and a T-shirt to the screening.
