Here are the top three stories today in Sandy Springs:

  1. The Southern Center for Human Rights reports the Fulton County Jail is undergoing serious issues. Fulton records obtained by the organization indicate that the jail is severely understaffed while malnourishment, lice, and scabies are impacting inmates. The county leads the state's largest jails in deaths since 2009. The Fulton County Sheriff's Office did not respond to the request for comment about the released records.   2. The 'New Year's Eve Swingin' Party' will feature Joe Gransden and Francine Reed. Gransden is a Sandy Springs native and a big-band leader.   3. A Fulton County mother is speaking out about how a student who threatened to murder her daughter has been allowed to return to school. The incident occurred on social media and initially resulted in a suspension from Cambridge High School. The teenage boy was allegedly suspended for four days. (WSBTV)
