Fulton Golden Games Kick Off April 27

The games are open to Sandy Springs residents age 50 and older.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Are you an active senior looking for a fun and rewarding way to enjoy the beautiful Georgia spring weather?

Then the 22nd Annual Fulton Golden Games may be right up your alley.

This year's games, beginning at the end of April and held throughout May, are open to area adults 50 and older. Registration is $20 and includes a T-shirt and opening day picnic lunch. Seniors may take part in as many events as they would like.

To sign up, download the registration packet here. Packets are also available at Fulton County senior centers. With nearly 400 participants last year, registration fills up quickly.

Opening ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. April 27 at Bell Memorial Park in Milton. Track and field events, including a one-mile walk and run, half-mile walk, flying disc throw, discus and shot-put throw, bocce toss, ladder golf, football throw and more begin after the ceremony.

Throughout the month of May, players can take part in various tournaments, including bridge, pickle ball, tennis, canasta and poker, diving and swimming events, a nature hike, rock climbing, a biathlon, table tennis, and much more!

A luncheon and awards ceremony will be held Thursday, May 26 at the Dorothy C. Benson Senior Multipurpose Complex in Sandy Springs.

The 22nd Annual Fulton Golden Games are hosted by the Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department in conjunction with the Johns Creek Recreation and Parks Division, Milton Parks and Recreation Department, Roswell Recreation, Parks, Historic and Cultural Affairs Department, Sandy Springs Recreation and Parks Department and Fulton County Human Services' Office of Aging.
