AVID, or Advancement Via Individual Determination, is being implemented this year for 200 selected freshmen and sophomores who applied and were interviewed for the program. The initiative provides support for “students in the middle” to take rigorous courses and be prepared for college, the school said.

North Springs students not taking AVID will be taking a success class designed to provide them with the support, study and organizational skills they need for success in high school and beyond. A new class for student leaders is also being offered.
