Each facility will host a Community Day as a part of a month of special events designed to celebrate national Older Americans month, which is recognized in May.
The theme of this year’s celebration, “Get into the Act,” focuses on encouraging older adults to take charge of their health, engage in their communities, and have a positive impact on the lives of others. By promoting and engaging in activity, wellness, and inclusivity, more Americans than ever before can “Get into the Act.”

On Community Day, each facility has an opportunity to display the variety of programs and services offered to help those 55 and older to stay healthy in mind, body and spirit.
Multipurpose activities for seniors vary from exercise, water aerobics, nutrition education, chronic disease management, field trips, arts classes, and computer classes. The classes are provided at no cost to those seniors who live in Fulton County and become members of the facilities.
Residents who live outside Fulton County can participate at the four multipurpose facilities by paying an annual fee. Each Community Day includes free entertainment, games and activities for the entire family as well as refreshments.
