Roswell Road, Sandy Springs Circle Intersection Reopens After Gas Leak

A Sandy Springs intersection reopened early Tuesday evening following a gas leak that shut down the major thoroughfare for a few hours.

A commercial-sized gas line was damaged at the intersection of Roswell Road and Sandy Springs Circle, an incident that forced the city to close the intersection just before noon Feb. 2.

Traffic had to be routed off Roswell Road southbound from Cromwell Road to Wright Road while northbound traffic was redirected to Sandy Springs Circle, city spokesperson Sharon Kraun said.

All lanes of travel were also reopened on Johnson Ferry Road to accommodate the detour. Atlanta Gas Light worked the scene of the incident until the leak was contained.
