Grants Now Available For Nonprofit, Community Groups

Applicants must be a 501(c)(3) organization in good standing, located in the city or substantially serve Sandy Springs residents.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The city of Sandy Springs announces the availability of fiscal year 2017 funding for eligible nonprofit agencies and community organizations that serve residents of Sandy Springs.

The available funding pool is $50,000, and resources are available for projects completed July 1, 2016, to June 30, 2017.

To be eligible to apply for funding, applicants must be a 501(c)(3) qualified nonprofit organization in good standing, located in the city or substantially serving residents of the Sandy Springs.

The organization also should provide programs or services to residents of Sandy Springs and must support the goals and objectives of at least one of the City Council’s adopted priorities: public safety, transportation, recreation and cultural enhancement, natural resource protection, community appearance, downtown development, sustainable growth or economic development.

Resources are not granted to support operational, administrative or fundraising functions. Applications, requirements and instructions will be available online starting June 1.

Applications must be submitted using the city’s online submission tool, and must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2016. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

The city will hold a training session at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 14 in the City Hall Training Room adjacent to City Council Chambers located at 7840 Roswell Road, Building 500.

While not mandatory, interested applicants are encouraged to attend as the session is geared towards helping nonprofit organizations prepare the most competitive application possible.

The Sandy Springs Non-Profit funding program was created to establish a policy for consistent response to requests for financial resources on behalf of non-profit organizations in the city.
