'Heart for the Arts' Fashion & Art Show Feb. 25

Holy Innocents' Episcopal School hosts "A Heart for the Arts" fine arts fundraiser with special guest, designer Abbey Glass.

Have a flair for fashion or love of the arts? Come to the Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School (HIES)11th biennial fundraiser, “A Heart for the Arts,” on Feb. 25 from 9:30 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Capital City Club Brookhaven in Atlanta.

The art and fashion show, open to the public, features a champagne brunch, fashion show with looks from Buckhead boutique favorites Tootsies and Miller Brothers, and a live auction with the chance to bid on a one-on-one visit with Atlanta-based, celebrity designer Abbey Glass at her design studio. The live auction will be conducted by V-103’s Ryan Cameron.

The event will also include a live art and jewelry bazaar featuring one-of-a-kind pieces and handcrafted jewelry created by such Atlanta-based fine artists as Melissa Payne Baker, Kendall Boggs, and Lenn Hopkins. Many new artists are part of a collaboration with Laine Kilburn’s Atlanta Artist Collective.

Proceeds from the event on Thursday, Feb. 25, will support Holy Innocents’ Fine Arts Alliance programs including; band, orchestra, chorus, drama, broadcast, and media literacy.

Established in 2003, the Fine Arts Association is a parent-focused group dedicated to promoting and enhancing all of Holy Innocents’ fine arts programs. The Alliance’s financial contributions assist with the costs of equipment, performances, dress uniforms, and more. Fundraisers include Movie Night, box office ticket sales, concessions sales, and the biennial “A Heart for the Arts” art and fashion show.

Holy Innocents’ opened as a small, parish pre-school in 1959 and is now one of the largest independent schools in Metro Atlanta—and one of the largest Episcopal day schools in the country.
