Heritage Sandy Springs Launch October Lecture Series
The series, Americans at War, will discuss topics from the Civil War to World War II.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- In October, Heritage Sandy Springs will roll out a new lecture series.
The Americans At War series, which is free to attend, will feature topics from the Civil War through World War II.
Lectures will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesdays throughout the month in the community room at Heritage Sandy Springs, which is located at 6110 Blue Stone Road.

The first speaker will be Civil War historian, Stephen Davis on Tuesday, October 4. Davis will speak about his new book, “A Long and Bloody Task: The Atlanta Campaign from Dalton through Kennesaw Mountain to the Chattahoochee River.”
Davis will make his appearance on Tuesday, Oct. 4, and his focus will include his recent findings on General John Bell Hood.

Also continuing on Oct. 4 will be the organization's Titles @ Twilight series. The Tuesday installment will feature a discussion with Kathleen Brewin Lewis, a Georgia poet whose writing focuses on the natural world and family life.
Lewis will speak about her books, “Fluent in Rivers,” and “July’s Thick Kingdom.”
Titles @ Twilight, which promotes local authors whose stories of history and the South represent a variety of perspectives, is free to attend and will be held at 6:30 p.m. in the garden room at the Williams-Payne House, which is located at 6075 Sandy Springs Circle.
