High Point Civic Association Awards Scholarships To Students
The High Point Civic Association (HPCA) awarded $500 scholarships to two Class of 2018 Riverwood International Charter School students.

From Riverwood Int'l School: The High Point Civic Association (HPCA) awarded $500 scholarships to two Class of 2018 Riverwood International Charter School students. Seniors Xavier Palacios-Santana and Rosa Moctezuma-Mier received the inaugural scholarships and both will attend Georgia State University in the fall. Palacios-Santana and Moctezuma-Mier attended High Point Elementary School and Ridgeview Charter Middle School prior to Riverwood -- a designation that was important to the scholarship's designers. This is the first year that the Association is sponsoring this scholarship, which is paid out of the Association’s budget. Notes HPCA Treasurer/Secretary Duffy Hickey, “We are so pleased to begin what we hope will be a long time recognition of young adults like Rosa and Xavier for their impressive achievements at our public schools and also in gratitude for the fantastic teachers we have at all three of our public schools. Best wishes to Rosa and Xavier as they continue their education!”
The High Point Civic Association is a non-profit organization of residents living in the High Point area of Sandy Springs. Its goal is to improve the quality of life as well as the value of properties in the neighborhood.
