High Point Road To Close For Pipeline Maintenance

The road will be closed between Forest Valley Road to High Brook Drive so Colonial Pipeline can perform maintenance.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Colonial Pipeline will begin maintenance work on an underground pipeline that crosses under a major street on the southern side of Sandy Springs.

The company will begin the work the week of April 3, and the project requires closing a portion of High Point Road to through traffic, the city of Sandy Springs said.

The road will be closed between Forest Valley Road to High Brook Drive, a move that could start most likely on Monday, city spokesperson Sharon Kraun added.

The Fulton County School System will take its spring break next week, so there will be no impact to students and staff at High Point Elementary and Ridgeview Charter Middle schools. Unfortunately, the Atlanta Jewish Academy will be in session, so those students and staff members will be potentially impacted by the closure.

Sandy Springs Mayor Rusty Paul said on his personal Facebook page that Colonial "is reaching out to property owners directly impacted, and the city will also conduct outreach related to the pending closure."
