High Point Students Take Part in Girls on the Run Fall 5K

The Sandy Springs students worked closely with teacher volunteers to train in local neighborhoods in preparation for the race.

High Point Elementary students last month gathered at Atlantic Station for the Girls on the Run of Atlanta Fall 5K.

Students worked closely with teacher volunteers for weeks prior to the race, training in local neighborhoods to prepare for any type of terrain. The mission of Girls on the Run is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum, which creatively integrates running.

It teaches life skills through dynamic interactive lessons and running games. The program culminates with the girls being physically and emotionally prepared to complete a celebratory 5k running event.
