Those looking for comedy clubs in Atlanta can enjoy two of the city’s most popular venues. Punchline Comedy Club and Atlanta Improv Comedy Club & Dinner Theatre are long time favorites with audiences. These clubs have hosted many of the country’s best known comedians over the years. Most of today’s up and coming comedians on the club circuit will appear at one of these Atlanta venues.
Punchline Comedy Club is the largest club in Atlanta. It opened in 1982 on the north side perimeter in Sandy Springs. A number of comedy legends have appeared onstage at the Punchline including Eddie Murphy, Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Richard Pryor, and Jeff Foxworthy. Reservations are required, and patrons must be at least 21 years old with ID. Here are the highlights of upcoming acts for the New Year.
· December 31- New Year’s Eve Laughter Blowout with headliner Pete Correale. Show times are 6, 8, and 10pm. Tickets- $30-$50.

· January 3-5, 2014- Punchline presents Ricky Kalmon, a hypnotist who has been featured on Comedy Central. Kalmon has recently filmed the pilot for his own TV show. Tickets- $20.
· January 17-19, 2014- Sheryl Underwood, one of today’s funniest stand up comedians, will appear. Underwood has appeared on BET’s Comic View, Comedy Central, and ABC’s Politically Incorrect. Tickets- $30.

· January 23-25- Jim Norton, author, radio personality, and comedian, will appear. Norton is well known from the Opie & Anthony Radio Show on Sirius/XM Radio as well as late night TV. Tickets- $25.
Atlanta Improv Comedy Club & Dinner Theater is located in the Buckhead area’s popular Andrews Entertainment District. Improv is the largest comedy chain in the world and features the best known comedians onstage. On Wednesday nights the Atlanta Improv holds an Open Mic Comedy Competition. Here are the highlights of their upcoming shows.
· New Year’s Eve- Nikki Glaser from MTV’s ‘The Nikki and Sara Show’ will appear. Glaser was a popular performer on season 4 of Last Comic Standing. Tickets-$25.
· January 2-4, 2014- Michael Kosta will perform. Kosta is seen each day on ‘Crowd Goes Wild,’ a sports entertainment talk show on FOX Sports 1. He has also appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Comedy Central, and ‘Live Nude Comedy’ on Showtime. Tickets- $25.
· January 9-11- Sean Patton will appear. Patton has been seen on Comedy Central and Late night with Jimmy Fallon. Tickets- $20.
Patrons at both clubs can enjoy appetizers, burgers, sandwiches, wings and other menu items. Some shows require a two drink minimum.
