Holy Innocents' Claire Kelsey Named STAR Student
Holy Innocents' Episcopal School senior names Stephanie Garner STAR Teacher.

Award-winning athlete Claire Kelsey has excelled on both the varsity cross country and lacrosse teams. And now the 18-year-old Holy Innocents’ Episcopal School senior has been named a STAR Student by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) Foundation. The STAR designation is based on SAT score and class ranking.
“I am very honored to be this year’s STAR Student for Holy Innocents’,” Kelsey said. “I chose Stephanie Garner, my Honors and AP Chemistry teacher, as my STAR Teacher because she is an excellent teacher who relates to, and motivates, all her students. And she inspired my passion for science.”
Kelsey, the daughter of Mark and Shannon Kelsey of Atlanta, is president of the school’s Science National Honor Society chapter, treasurer of the National Honor Society, and secretary of the Mu Alpha Theta math honor society. The school leader has also been a captain of both the cross country and lacrosse teams, received a Cum Laude Society award her junior year, has worked as a Holy Innocents’ student ambassador, and was a Governor’s Honors nominee. She has also done considerable community service, including work for The Foundation for Hospital Art and Project Open Hand, packaging food for the homeless.
