“STEM (Science, Technology Engineering and Math) education embodies some of the most engaging, hands-on subjects in our schools,” Beth-Sarah Wright, HIES director of enrollment management, said. “STEM skills can be used for more beautiful art and more powerful performances, more polished projects—not to mention critical thinking, creativity and problem-solving. Why not begin this learning in the early years?”

Youngsters will take part in entertaining activities, earn stamps of completion in their engineering booklets as they participate and try to earn the “HI-est” level of engineering. Prizes will be awarded and light refreshments served in the STEM Building lobby afterward, at 11 a.m.
