Holy Spirit Prep's Luke Cocks Named All-State Art Winner

Luke Cocks, 12th-grader at Holy Spirit Prep, is named as an All-State Art Symposium State Winner for his photography.

Congratulations to Luke Cocks from Holy Spirit Prep, who was just named as an All-State Art Symposium State Winner! The All-State Art Symposium is regarded as the biggest interscholastic art competition in the state and highly recognized for its competitiveness.

According to the exhibition's sponsor, the Georgia Art Education Association, the Symposium "is dedicated to promoting and recognizing the creative talents of high school students from Georgia's school districts. The symposium's workshops, juried exhibition and other events provide high school students with cultural opportunities, develop advanced studio skills, and cultivate aesthetic appreciation while recognizing excellence in high school art education. Through the dynamic symposium, students, parents and teachers celebrate creativity and the symbiotic relationship of art and society."

Despite HSP's reputation for producing outstanding artists, Luke is just the second student at HSP to win at the state level, an indication of the competitiveness of the symposium.

Rockie Rondeau, Luke's art teacher, felt that "it is such an honor that one of [her] students has received such a prestigious recognition." According to Rondeau, "Luke is more dedicated to his craft than any other student [she] has ever worked with."

The award of State Winner permits display in the All-State Art Symposium Exhibition, held in March at Columbus State University.
