Hundreds Race Through Sandy Springs To Benefit Local Schools
The Sandy Springs Education Force held its 3rd Annual Footprints For The Future 5K on Saturday, Nov. 12.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Roughly 250 runners wound through the heart of Sandy Springs on a Saturday morning as part of Sandy Springs Education Force’s 3rd Annual Footprints for the Future 5K Road Race.
The race, which was held Nov. 12 at Lake Forest Elementary School, is a certified Peachtree Road Race Qualifier. Overall winners were Chris Nassar, male, at 17:49 and Danielle Foley, female, at 23:05.
This year’s race featured a new, faster course for competitive timing as well as a 40-yard dash for younger runners. Along with an increased number of competitive runners, our public schools’ students, parent bodies and administrators joined the race.

Businesses and foundations came out in full force to support this community event where funds raised go directly to underwrite SSEF’s award-winning education and enrichment programs in our 11 Sandy Springs public schools.
“We are thrilled with the Sandy Springs community’s support for our Footprints for the Future race," said SSEF Executive Director Irene Schweiger. "It is exciting to see how the race and its impact grow each year. Everyone came together to make this a successful, fun event for an important cause that affects our entire city."
