"The Spark that Survived" was published 27 years after Williams’ first book, "Great Balls of Fire." That book turned out to be a publisher’s idea of the only part of Williams’ life he thought anyone would be interested in: her marriage at age 13 to her second-cousin Jerry Lee Lewis.

"Until now, my real life story has never been told, and I’ve finally been able to write my story in my own words," Williams said.
