Jewish Genealogical Society of Georgia Presents "Ask the Experts" October 26, 2014

At last - answers for your burning Jewish genealogy questions!

On Sunday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m. at The Bremen Jewish Heritage Museum, a panel of experienced genealogists will be available to help answer those nagging research questions. Their expertise is on the European continent. The panelists include (alphabetically):

David Bader is the Chair of the School of Computational Science and Engineering at Georgia Tech, and Executive Director of High Performance Computing. His expertise includes online Jewish genealogy research, using the ITS Bad Arolsen archive, and genetic genealogy using DNA. Recently, David was able to trace a friend’s ancestry to a conductor of the Underground Railroad, several Revolutionary War patriots, to the Mayflower pilgrims, and even Charlemagne!

Gary Deutsch is a former president and webmaster for the Jewish Genealogical Society of Georgia, as well as a former genealogy columnist for the “Maccabiah Press” in Marietta, GA. With more than 20 years of genealogical research, he has lectured and taught classes on navigating the Ellis Island online database, effective genealogy web research and Heritage scrapbooking.

Howard has organized and led thirteen different group trips to Lithuania. Seventy five per cent of his group members (almost 300 individuals) were not involved in genealogical research before they took the trip, but many of them became involved afterwards.

One hour prior to the meeting, Dave Slater and Robert Weinberg will be available to accommodate members and guests who want to use The Bremen’s genealogy library materials, get help with genealogy research or ask genealogical questions before the main program begins. TO TAKE PART IN THIS MENTORING SESSION, YOU MUST SEND AN E-MAIL TO DAVE (slaterd@bellsouth.net) OR ROBERT (gadfly1969@bellsouth.net) TO ENSURE THAT THERE WILL BE AMPLE SPACE IN THE LIBRARY.

The program is free for members of The Breman and included in admission for guests.
