Hi all. I'm back with your fresh copy of the Sandy Springs Daily. Follow along to find out everything you need to know about what's going on in town.

But first, today's weather:

Partly sunny and beautiful. High: 74 Low: 60.

Here are the top three stories today in Sandy Springs:

  1. Georgia's General Election will be on Nov. 8. Today is the last day to register to vote for the upcoming election. Early voting will begin on Oct. 17. The last day to request an absentee ballot is Oct. 28. Click for a Fulton County sample ballot, or visit 11Alive for a list of ballot questions. (11Alive.com WXIA)
  2. Mayors have once again rejected Fulton County's sales tax share request. The mayors rejected the offer that would have sent $341 million more to the county compared to the current amount. Fulton County Commission Chairman Pitts claims that the additional funds would allow the county to address the rising cost of public health and public safety services that it offers to 1.2 million residents. (Reporter Newspapers)
  3. Georgia gas prices are creeping back up. The state's average for a gallon of gas is $3.22, five cents higher compared to last week. The most expensive area for gas in the state is the Atlanta metro. (WSB Atlanta)
