Leadership Sandy Springs Looking For New Executive Director

Carolyn Axt will retire from the position in June.

Leadership Sandy Springs is in the market for a new executive director.

The organization, the nexus for community leadership development in Sandy Springs, is looking for someone to replace Carolyn Axt, who announced plans to retire in June at the end of the 2015 program year, according to its Facebook page.

“Our executive director presents the face of Leadership Sandy Springs to the community and our sponsors,” said Board of Trustees President Bob Levinson, who chairs the selection committee. “A selection committee has been appointed to explore potential successors for the executive director position. While we anticipate there will be some restructuring of the various staff positions based on whom we hire as a new executive director, we feel potential candidates for the part-time position should be well acquainted with Leadership Sandy Springs or other community leadership programs, with the city of Sandy Springs and either be a resident of the city or have a business or non-profit organization within the city.”

Other candidate attributes sought by the selection committee include fundraising experience along with strong communication and public relations skills. Prior management experience in either not-for-profit organizations or a small-business is essential.

LSS operates with a small part-time staff, so experience managing teams and working with volunteers are additional candidate qualities.
