Making a Difference This Week!

There are so many wonderful people in our community who care about helping our neighbors in need. Every day the Community Assistance Center receives donations in many forms from a wide variety of individuals, businesses, schools and groups. Whether it's a food drive, a monetary donation, or students volunteering; they are all important and make a difference in the lives of nearby families who are struggling to get by.  CAC serves individuals and families of Sandy Springs and Dunwoody who are experiencing an unexpected financial crisis, perhaps due to a job loss, illness, death in the family or other catastrophe such as fire. The donors and volunteers of CAC help these folks stay in their homes with emergency financial assistance, food and clothing, thus preventing homelessness and hunger. In extreme cases such as fire, CAC can help families with temporary housing and pull together donations of beds and the basic necessities needed to live. This week, as in every week, we are thankful for support from around the community, here are just a few who have helped in various ways in recent days:

  • GV Financial Advisors
  • Mt. Vernon Presbyterian School Students
  • Mill Glen/Withmere Neighborhood in Dunwoody
  • and team of golfers who represented CAC at the North Perimeter Optimists Club Annual Golf Tournament (a portion of proceeds go to CAC), Charlie Rothermel, Randy Clark, Bobby Bradford and Steve Reid. Congratulations guys on taking second place!
