Man Found Dead At Storage Facility in Sandy Springs (UPDATED)
Police say the man who has been taken into custody in connection to the case has been charged with killing his mother in Cobb County.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- Investigators are working to piece together what led to the death of a man whose body was found Saturday evening at a storage facility in Sandy Springs.
Officers were dispatched just after 10 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17 to a report of a man found unconscious on the floor at Extra Space Storage located at 6780 Roswell Road.
Emergency medical crews arrived and pronounced the victim deceased on the scene. That man's identification, Sandy Springs police said, is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Throughout the investigation, officers found the victim's red 2016 red Audi S5 was missing from the parking lot and also discovered that he left behind another vehicle, Sandy Springs police spokesperson Capt. Mike Lindstrom said. That car, a blue Mazda 3, was taken from the scene of another homicide that took place earlier Saturday in Cobb County.
Working with their counterparts in Cobb County, Sandy Springs investigators have determined the Audi was found at the townhome of a woman who was shot and killed early Saturday evening.

According to Cobb police, a woman was found dead around 6:20 p.m. at her home in the 400 block of Bridle Path NE in Marietta. A be-on-the-lookout alert on a possible suspect was issued Saturday evening and Sunday, officers in that jurisdiction learned that the suspect, 31-year-old Justin Paul Hess, returned to the Cobb townhome.
A SWAT Unit descended onto the residence and Hess was taken into custody without incident. He's been subsequently charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in the shooting death of his mother, 61-year-old Carol Ann Hess.
The investigation has yielded enough evidence to suggest he's allegedly responsible for the homicide in Sandy Springs, Lindstrom added.
Sandy Springs detectives will now work to obtain a murder warrant for Hess, Lindstrom said. Return to Patch for updates.
