Man Hit On GA 400 Near North Springs MARTA Station
The man, who left his vehicle to ask for directions to another MARTA station, was hit while he paused to pick up something on the ground.

A 46-year-old man is recovering from his injuries after he was hit by a pickup truck while walking on Georgia 400 late Sunday morning.
The man was hit by a GMC truck around noon Aug. 3, the Sandy Springs Police Department said on its Facebook page.
The pedestrian walked across the grassy area near MARTA’s North Springs station and stopped to ask for directions to another MARTA Station.

“As he returned to his car, he was struck by the truck, whose driver said he was forced out of his lane by an unknown vehicle,” the agency said.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the man was hit by the truck when he paused to pick up something on the ground.

The driver of the GMC, which was towing a trailer, “lost control and hit the pedestrian,” Sandy Springs police said.
The victim was charged with pedestrian in the roadway and the driver of the truck was charged with failure to maintain lane, Sandy Springs police said.
The victim was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital to be treated for non life-threatening injuries, the agency added.
