Man Told Motorist "Someone's Trying To Kill Me" Before Stealing Jeep
The driver of the Jeep said he was pumping gas Sunday afternoon when he was approached by a male who said he needed his vehicle.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The Sandy Springs Police Department is on the look out for a man who allegedly stole a Jeep Wrangler from a 18-year-old driver while he was pumping gas Sunday afternoon.
According to an incident report from the agency, the man told police he was filling up his tank around 4:34 p.m. May 7 at the Shell station at 6385 Roswell Road when he was approached by an unknown male.
This person, described as a black male about 6 feet tall and between 230 and 240 pounds, walked up to him and said, "Someone's trying to kill me, I need your car," the report states.

The man, who was wearing blue jeans and a white T-shirt, pointed north towards Roswell Road when he informed the motorist of his alleged plight. When the motorist refused, the male subject walked to the driver side of the Jeep, started up the 2005 Jeep Wrangler and took off northbound on Roswell Road, the report adds.
The 18-year-old said there were no guns, electronics or tracking devices inside the Jeep, which is tan in color, has a soft top and stickers of road races (Tough Mudder, 5K) along both sides near the hood and corner of the doors.

According to the report, the day manager at the convenience store told police the man came into the store asking for a cup of ice before the incident.
