MAYA Steaks & Seafood Closes Doors in Sandy Springs
The restaurant's last day of service was Saturday, June 3.
SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- After two and a half of years of serving upscale meals to its patrons in Sandy Springs, MAYA Steaks & Seafood has closed its doors.
The company announced Friday that its last day was Saturday, June 3. The message was posted on its Facebook page.
Chef and owner Mimmo Alboumeh opened the restaurant in January 2015, "bringing to Sandy Springs its first steakhouse with a Mediterranean flair," MAYA added.

Along with running the restaurant, Alboumeh was also involved in and supported various local charities such as Ian's Friends Foundation, Second Helpings Atlanta, Georgia Ovarian Cancer Alliance and the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, to which he served as a partner.
"We have had a great run here in Sandy Springs and have future plans within the community," Alboumeh said. “In the meantime, we hope you will visit us at our sister restaurant concept, Red Pepper Taqueria, with two locations - in the heart of Buckhead and in Decatur on Briarcliff Road."
