Mercedes-Benz Gets Naming Rights for Falcons Stadium: Report

The company that will relocate its new headquarters to Sandy Springs is expected to make the official announcement on Monday.

The Atlanta Falcons’ new stadium will soon have a new name.

Atlanta Business Chronicle reports that German automaker Mercedes-Benz has acquired the naming rights for the stadium, which is expected to be complete by 2017.

As of Friday, neither Mercedes-Benz nor the Falcons have officially commented on the deal.

Mercedez-Benz USA will expand its presence in Atlanta with the relocation of its U.S. headquarters from New Jersey to Sandy Springs, and is expected to have the new facility ready around the same time as the Falcons’ new stadium, the Chronicle reports.

The company also owns the naming rights for the Superdome, home of the New Orleans Saints, the Falcons’ rivals.

When the Falcons and Saints face off in 2017, they could be playing in stadiums with the same name, according to the Chronicle.
