Miss Atlanta Visits Rotary Club of Sandy Springs

Lindsay Quandt spoke about her volunteerism with the Girls Scouts of America.

Miss Atlanta 2016 Lindsay Quandt paid a visit this week to the Rotary Club of Sandy Springs.

During her visit, which occurred on Monday, Oct. 12, Quandt spoke about earning the Girl Scouts of America Gold Award, which is obtained by only 5 percent of Girl Scouts by developing and distributing 100 custom made self-cooling units to American troops in Afghanistan and Iraq.

She is a graduate of the University of Georgia, and has a degree in marketing and German. Miss Atlanta is a subsidiary program of the Miss America program.

Quandt was joined by Lisa Martin, senior community engagement specialist, who spoke about Girls Scouts programs in the Sandy Springs area and stressed the need for scouting. 

The Rotary Club of Sandy Springs has a 44-year history of service both internationally and locally to the Sandy Springs community.

Luncheon meetings are held most Mondays at 12:15 p.m. at the Hilton Perimeter Suites on Peachtree Dunwoody Road in Sandy Springs.

The club welcomes interested business leaders, professionals and community leaders to visit for lunch. Reservations aren’t required but may be made in advance atwww.sandyspringsrotary.org.
