Here are the top three stories today in Sandy Springs:

  1. Fulton County offered walk-in monkeypox vaccinations yesterday at Neighborhood Union Health Center. The vaccinations were only offered to sexually active gay and bisexual men due to limited supply. The Fulton County Board of Health has reportedly administered over 7,000 monkeypox vaccinations since the outbreak started. The department is now administering the vaccine intradermally after an FDA change from subcutaneous. (CBS 46 News)
  2. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp continues to avoid testifying before a Fulton County grand jury. A county judge heard arguments on Thursday about why the Governor should be compelled to testify. The Governor's office is citing sovereign immunity while the DA's office is arguing that sovereign immunity does not apply to this case. ( The Atlanta Journal Constitution)
  3. The Fulton County Board of Commissioners will be hosting a Special Called Meeting on Friday, Sep. 2 at 10:00 a.m. The meeting's purpose is to meet with the Mayors of Fulton County.
