Movies By Moonlight Returns Friday At City Springs

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Calling all Spider-Man aficionados! On Friday, Aug. 23rd , Leadership Sandy Springs will be showing "Spider-Man: into the Spider-Verse," the second in its free outdoor Movies by Moonlight (MBM) series taking place on the lawn at City Springs.

The movie, shown on a 30-foot inflatable screen will begin at dusk, and food trucks, fun activities and entertainment will begin at 6 p.m., making LSS’ 15th annual community event “the best block party in town.”

“Adding to the fun of watching a movie under the stars are all the pre-movie activities and
entertainment LSS has planned,” said event co-chair Stephanie Graham, “and we’re really
excited that the Dunwoody Nature Center (DNC) will be here with fun activities for kids to learn about spiders and other arachnids.”

“We’re excited to be involved,” said DNC intern Madhave Dave, “it’s a perfect partnership of connecting our community with education at a fun event.”

“It’ll be a great way to spread awareness about the importance of spiders in our environment
and Dunwoody Nature Center,” added DNC intern, Courtney Gantt, who along with Dave, will be at Movies by Moonlight.

In addition to learning about spiders from the nature center, Sandy Springs gymnasts are scheduled to perform on stage, a laser Spiderman is expected to be seen, costumed characters from Cosplay of America will be available for photos and fun selfies and all children and adults in costume will be invited to parade across the stage before the movie begins.

There will also be face painting, a balloon artist, lawn games, the children’s splash pad, food trucks, and LSS’ popular snow-cones and cotton candy. Movie goers may also bring picnics,
lawn chairs and blankets.

Parking is available in the garage and in lots and spaces around City Springs located at 1 Galambos Way (corner of Roswell Rd. and Mt Vernon), with additional parking at Sandy Springs United Methodist Church Activity Center.
