A good crowd gathered last Friday for opening day of the 2015 series, which is sponsored by Leadership Sandy Springs, the organization said.
Known as the best block party in Sandy Springs, this free event brings back the nostalgia and fun of the outdoor cinema with fun, games and food.
The gates will open at 6 p.m., and the movies are shown at dark on a huge inflatable screen.
Guests have free range of family-friendly games in the Kids Zone, including inflatable bounce houses, obstacle course and tumbling with Jump Start Gym, exploration in the Sandy Springs fire station’s Touch-A-Truck area, memberships and specialty giveaways with Cinemoms, a movie club for parents, and other games, novelty items, and drawings by various vendors.
New this year for the adults is High Octane Events’ exotic car display. Dinner for purchase is available from food trucks Yumbii, and Dogs on Wheels as well as Chick-Fil-A. Residents are encouraged to bring a blanket and cooler to the event.
The final movie in the series will be “Cinderella,” which will be shown Sept. 25. The activity center lawn is across the church at 86 Mt. Vernon Highway in Sandy Springs.
