I-285 Reopens After Multi-Vehicle Crash in Sandy Springs

The crash involved a tractor trailer and several vehicles on the eastbound side between Roswell Road and GA-400.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA -- The eastbound side of Interstate 285 in Sandy Springs has reopened following a multiple-vehicle accident that shut down a portion of the thoroughfare late Friday afternoon.

The crash, which was reported during the afternoon rush hour period, forced first responders to close the highway between the Roswell Road and GA-400 interchanges.

Sandy Springs police Capt. Mike Lindstrom told Patch the crash involved a tractor trailer and several vehicles.

Lindstrom added no fatalities have been reported in the connection to the crash. While the lanes have reopened, motorists should expect heavy delays as they travel through the corridor.
