New Fire Station In Sandy Springs? City Schedules Input Meeting

The city is exploring the possibility of building a new fire station in the Panhandle area.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — The city of Sandy Springs has scheduled a community meeting to discuss the possibility of adding a new fire station in the Panhandle area of the city.

Sandy Springs is exploring the option of opening a new station in the extreme northern area of the city. The Sandy Springs Fire-Rescue Department has five stations in the city: Station 1 at 1425 Spalding Drive; Station 2 at 135 Johnson Ferry Road; Station 3 at 6025 Raider Drive; Station 4 at 4697 Wieuca Road; and Station 5 at 8025 Holcomb Bridge Road (an automatic aid response out of Roswell Fire Station No. 7).

The March 27 meeting will include a presentation by Fire Chief Keith Sanders and will be followed by a chance to engage in a question-and-answer session. The new station, the city notes, would improve fire safety service in the area.

Sandy Springs City Hall is located in Building 500 at 7840 Roswell Road.
